World Sepsis Day is a Global Sepsis Alliance initiative that started in 2012 and is observed every year on September 13th. This is celebrated with events held all over the world to raise awareness about sepsis. World Sepsis Day is important because it is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against sepsis which accounts for at least 8 million deaths worldwide annually.
CME cum Technology Update with the theme
“Technology meets molecular diagnosis” was organized by department of Microbiology, Zum Heilen Medivaz and DAT on 13th September 2022 at 4th floor, smart class, RRMCH.
The program began with a welcome speech from Dr. Archana Rao K and invocation song by Dr. Kanthishree followed by lighting of lamp & inauguration by Dean – Dr Sathyamurthy B with the presence of Medical superintendent – Dr Praveen kumar M, Deputy Medical superintendent Dr. Vivek G, Founder & Managing Director, ZUM HEILEN DAT – Dr Prashanth Varki, Mr. Nishanth Kathpal, Founder-AYATI Devices, Mr. Sumukh Founder – MUSE devices and Head of Microbiology – Dr Lakshminarayana S A.
The beginning talk was on “Diagnostic Stewardship in Sepsis-An Update” by Dr. Prakash R, Professor of Microbiology. Then continued with scientific session on “Relevance of a silent heart attack awareness” program by Dr. Prashanth Varki, M.S, M.Ch. The program processed with the next scientific session with Diabetic foot- Early neuropathy screening (New solutions for an old problem) by Mr. Nishanth Kathpal, Founder-AYATI Devices and the last session was on “When your breath can be heard remotely (A smart stethoscope its relevance in a crowded world)” by Mr. Sumukh Founder – MUSE devices. Oral feedback was taken after the CME by the participants. Around 100 doctors attended the program. The program was concluded by vote of thanks from Dr. Kirtilaxmi K B followed by lunch.
