CME Programme on “ALEAD Session – Research Methodology”
The Department of General Surgery, RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital, successfully organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on “ALEAD Session – Research Methodology” on 25th June 2026 at Kadamba Hall. The academic event, held from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 200 faculty members, postgraduate students, and healthcare professionals.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Raksha R., who highlighted the significance of research and continuous medical education in fostering evidence-based clinical practice.
The CME featured expert sessions by distinguished speakers. Dr. Shashikala Manjunath, Professor, Department of Community Medicine, RMC&H, delivered an insightful lecture on the fundamentals of research methodology and planning research studies in medical sciences.
The ALEAD session was conducted by Dr. Praneeth Reddy O., RMA – Gastro Division, Abbott India, who provided practical guidance on framing research questions, selecting appropriate study designs, basics of biostatistics, inferential statistics, literature search using PubMed, manuscript writing, plagiarism awareness, reference management using Zotero, and clinical leadership.
The interactive sessions encouraged active participation and meaningful discussions, equipping attendees with essential skills for conducting high-quality medical research. The programme was graced by the presence of the Dean, Principal, Medical Superintendent, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and postgraduate students.
The CME concluded successfully, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to promoting research excellence, academic growth, and evidence-based healthcare practices.
