Dr. Prabhakara S Secures ICMR Research Grant for Groundbreaking Genetic Study

We are proud to announce that Dr. Prabhakara S, Professor & Head of the Department of Genetics and Central Research Laboratory at RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital, has been awarded a prestigious research grant from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Government of India.

The grant, amounting to ₹14,04,043 (Rupees Fourteen Lakhs Four Thousand and Forty-Three), has been sanctioned for the project titled: “Identification and Screening of Candidate Genes for Paroxysmal Movement Disorders by Next Generation Sequencing Approach for Developing Molecular Diagnostics.”

The project will be conducted over the period 16th February 2025 to 15th February 2026 and aims to contribute significantly to the field of neurogenetics by leveraging advanced genomic technologies to improve diagnostic precision for paroxysmal movement disorders. This achievement reflects the dedication and research excellence of our faculty and reinforces the Central Research Lab’s commitment to advancing medical science through innovative and impactful research.
