Health Awareness & Screening Camp on Diabetic Neuropathy

The Department of Community Medicine, Rajarajeshwari Medical College & Hospital (RRMCH), in association with Rajarajeshwari College of Physiotherapy, conducted a comprehensive Health Awareness and Screening Camp on Diabetic Neuropathy at the Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC), Chunchankuppe.
The program aimed to increase awareness about diabetes-related nerve complications and to facilitate early detection among the local community. Faculty members, postgraduate students, and interns from both departments actively participated in the camp.
The event included:
- Health education sessions on diabetes management and prevention of complications
- Screening for diabetic neuropathy using standard clinical assessment tools
- Personalized counselling on lifestyle modifications, foot care, medication adherence, and physiotherapy interventions
- Referrals for further evaluation and treatment when needed
The camp received an enthusiastic response from the community, with significant participation from patients with known diabetes as well as individuals undergoing screening for the first time.
RRMCH continues to be committed to community outreach, preventive care, and promoting early diagnosis of chronic conditions through regular health camps and awareness initiatives.
