Indian Air Force Day – The Indian Air Force (IAF) (ISO: Bhāratīya Vāyu Senā) is the air arm of the Indian Armed Forces. Its primary mission is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during armed conflicts. It was officially established on 8 October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of the British India which honoured India’s aviation service during World War.

Ayudha Puja was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm at RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital on 27th September 2025, as part of the Navaratri festival. This auspicious occasion, dedicated to the worship of tools, instruments, and machinery, symbolizes gratitude towards the implements that support our daily work and progress.

The celebration began with the traditional cleaning and decoration of all equipment, machines, and vehicles used within the institution. They were adorned with flowers, sandalwood paste, and vermilion, highlighting the cultural reverence for tools as an extension of divine energy.

The puja was performed by the priest, invoking blessings of Goddess Saraswati (goddess of knowledge), Goddess Durga (symbol of strength), and Lord Vigneshwara. Faculty, Non Teaching staff, and students participated in the ceremony with sincerity and devotion. Dr. Vijayanand, Executive Director-RRGI participated in each puja and wished all the staff and students with distributing sweets.

The event concluded with the distribution of prasadam and a spirit of renewed dedication towards work and learning. Ayudha Puja served as a reminder that knowledge, tools, and skills are sacred and must be used with responsibility and respect.

Founder’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 22nd September 2025 at the ACS Convention Centre, located within the RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) campus. The event marked not only the birthday of the Founder and Chairman, Dr. A.C. Shanmugam, but also served as a celebration of his remarkable contributions to education, healthcare, and social upliftment.

The celebrations commenced with a vibrant song and dance performance by students of RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions (RRGI), dedicated to Dr. A.C. Shanmugam. The performance expressed gratitude for his visionary leadership and lasting impact on society. This was followed by an invocation song and a warm welcome address by Dr. Edwin Devadoss, Dean of RajaRajeswari Dental College & Hospital (RRDCH).

Dr. A.C. Shanmugam then took to the stage to deliver a deeply inspiring speech. He reflected on the institution’s humble beginnings, the early challenges, and the enduring belief in the transformative power of education. Today, with over 35 educational institutions under its banner, the RajaRajeswari Group has become a symbol of excellence in academics, character-building, and community service. Dr. Shanmugam paid tribute to the faculty, students, alumni, and supporters, emphasizing that Founder’s Day is not only a tribute to the past, but a renewed promise to a future rooted in compassion, excellence, and service.

Mr. Manjunath, former MLA of Magadi, praised Dr. Shanmugam’s significant contributions to the field of education, especially medical education, and wished him continued success in his mission to create more such institutions. Dr. Arunachalam, Chairman of Best Club, also extended heartfelt birthday wishes and expressed hope that Dr. Shanmugam would go on to establish many more centers of learning.

The event featured a felicitation ceremony, where representatives from each institution under the RajaRajeswari Group honored Dr. Shanmugam. In turn, Dr. Shanmugam felicitated outstanding staff members from across the institutions for their exemplary service. He also presented awards and prizes to students who excelled in various sports and cultural competitions held in the lead-up to Founder’s Day.

The celebration was a moving tribute to a visionary leader and the legacy he continues to build. As the day drew to a close, one message rang clear — Dr. A.C. Shanmugam’s journey is not just a personal success story, but a shared mission that continues to shape countless lives. We extend our warmest birthday wishes to Dr. Shanmugam and look forward to many more milestones under his inspiring leadership.

The inaugural ceremony of “Ekattva – The Oneness” College Fest was held with grandeur and enthusiasm at the RajaRajeswari Group of Institutions (RRGI). The event was graced by the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Ms. Anuradha Bhat, renowned Indian playback singer.

The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of knowledge and creativity. The lamp was lit by the Chief Guest along with other dignitaries. This was followed by a soulful invocation song dedicated to Lord Ganesha, rendered beautifully by final-year student Ms. Shreya.

A warm welcome and introduction of the Chief Guest were given by Dr. Soumya, Associate Professor, Department of ENT, who highlighted Ms. Bhat’s contributions to the world of music.

Ms. Anuradha Bhat was felicitated by the Management of RRGI for her outstanding achievements and inspiring presence. In her address, she spoke eloquently about the power of music as a medium of healing and unity, emphasizing how art and passion can bring peace and harmony to individuals and society alike.

The audience was treated to a delightful live performance, where Ms. Bhat sang two of her most popular songs –
“Appa I Love You Paa” from the movie Chowka and
“Marali Mareyagi” from Savaari.
Her mesmerizing voice and heartfelt renditions received immense applause and appreciation from the crowd.

The official opening of the fest “Ekattva” was declared by Dr. Sathyamurthy, Dean of RRGI. This was followed by vibrant cultural performances by the students of RRGI, showcasing their talents and adding energy to the celebrations.

The event concluded on a patriotic note with a vote of thanks extended to all dignitaries, participants, and attendees, followed by the National Anthem.
