Title : Pathway to Publications

The Department of Community Medicine at RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital, Bengaluru under the guidance of Dr Srividya V, Professor and HOD, successfully organized a CME program on 6th March 2026, aimed at strengthening research and scientific publication skills among students, researchers, and faculty.

The program witnessed participation from over 300 delegates in a hybrid format, both online and offline, creating an engaging platform for knowledge sharing and academic discussions.

Scientific Sessions:
Dr. Venkat R Mohan delivered an insightful session on “Mastering the Manuscript: Writing from the Editor’s Perspective,” highlighting the key elements required to structure and present a scientific manuscript effectively.

Dr. Sudheesh K conducted a session on “Artificial Intelligence in Manuscript Writing,” discussing the evolving role of AI tools in supporting academic writing and research productivity.

Dr. Pradeep Banandur presented “Through the Reviewer’s Lens: What Gets Your Paper Accepted,” offering valuable perspectives on the peer-review process and how researchers can improve their chances of manuscript acceptance. He also delivered a session on “Ethics in Publication,” emphasizing the importance of maintaining integrity, avoiding plagiarism, and adhering to responsible research practices.

Dr. Sumanth M M delivered a session on Altmetrics, explaining how alternative metrics help track the online attention and broader impact of research beyond traditional citation counts.

Dr. Nanda Kumar B S conducted a session on “Desk Research: Leveraging Secondary Data for Research,” highlighting the use of secondary data sources for research and evidence synthesis.

The CME focused on guiding participants through the research-to-publication journey, strengthening scientific writing skills, ethical research conduct, and effective dissemination of scientific knowledge.
The program received a positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the practical insights and interactive discussions that enhanced their understanding of the research and publication process.
