“State Level Sensitization meeting of stakeholders for advancing Tobacco Cessation at all levels in KARNATAKA”

The State Tobacco Control Cell (STCC), Karnataka, had organized State-Level Meeting on Advancing Tobacco Cessation in Karnataka on 25th March 2025 at West Fort Hotel, Bengaluru.
The program started with lamp lighting ceremony and inaugural address by STCC coordinator.
Dr. Rajani. M. Joint Director (Medical) and member secretary NTCP enlightened the audience about the progress of NTCP in Karnataka.
Dr. Rana J SinghDirector, Tobacco Control- South-East Asia, Vital Strategies, New Delhi spoke on Tobacco Cessation Services in India:
Current Status and Way Forward.
Dr Puneet Chahar from Vital Strategies, New Delhi talked about scaling up of tobacco cessation at all levels- Integrating brief advice and implementing Health Worker Guide.
Dr. Narasimha Venkata Lakshmi, Assistant professor, Department of Addiction Medicine, NIMHANS, Bengaluru briefed on Tobacco Cessation Services in Karnataka and National Tobacco Quitline & integration opportunities.
This was followed by a panel discussion with experts on integrating tobacco cessation with TB, Mental Health, Oral Health, NCD, NUHM, RBSK and RKSK.
