A three-day School Health Camp was conducted at the Rotary Bangalore Vidyalaya Nagadevanahalli Bangalore, from 24th of July 2019 to 26th of July 2019 by the Dept. of Community Medicine, RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital.
The camp was conducted by a team of 10 Doctors from RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital headed by Dr. Shashikala M, Prof & HOD & Dr. Swapna, Associate Professor, In-charge UHTC, Interns from Community Medicine actively took part in the camp and was organised by Mr. Sampath.
During this camp a total of 375 students and 17 teaching and non-teaching staffs of the school were screened for various diseases like Malnutrition, Skin Disorders, Dental Problems, Diabetes and Hypertension.
Students were counselled regarding the nutritive values of various foods and the benefits of following a balanced diet regularly.
They were also informed about the methods of hand and oral hygiene and the advantages of following them before and after every meal and after using the toilet.
Also an adolescent Health Camp was conducted for the female students between the age group of 12-16 years in which Health Education regarding menstrual hygiene was given by Dr. Swapna.
We would like to thank the Rotarians for their kind support and for providing us with Glucometer strips which made the screening process for Diabetes in the school staff much easier and more effective.
Lastly we would like to thank the Rotary Bangalore and the School Administration for their warm welcome and also for providing lunch for the doctors during the camp.
