World No Tobacco Day Programme 2025

As part of the ongoing efforts to promote a healthy environment, the Department of Respiratory Medicine, RRMCH join hands with the Department of Community Medicine, RRMCH to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco.

We have initiated a campaign to place signboards in strategic locations. These signboards aim to educate the students and public about the risks associated with tobacco consumption and declare our premises a tobacco-free zone.

The signboards feature clear and concise messages about the dangers of tobacco consumption and the tobacco-free zone policy. They have been placed at prominent locations, including entrances, corridors, and high-traffic areas within medical college, UG and PG men’s and women’s hostel, staff quarters, and hospital. It is expected to reduce tobacco use among visitors and staff and promote a healthy environment for everyone.

Dr Satyamurthy, Dean, Dr Basavaraj Bhandare, Principal and Dr Praveen, Medical Superintendent, RRMCH addressed the students and motivated them to quit tobacco use and seek professional help as early as possible. Also, a health education session highlighting the harmful effects of tobacco use, legal measures to control tobacco use in the educational institutions was conducted at RRMCH boys and girls hostel campus by MBBS Interns. A total of around 80 students participated in the program.
