Basic Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
The Department of Pediatrics, Rajarajeswari Medical College & Hospital (RRMCH) successfully organized a Basic Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) for nursing students from 24th to 29th November 2025. The training aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and hands-on skills required for effective newborn resuscitation and immediate postnatal care.
Inauguration
The program commenced with an inaugural ceremony graced by:
- Dr. Sathya Murthy – Dean
- Dr. Praveen Kumar – Medical Superintendent
- Dr. Rajanish K. V – HOD, Department of Pediatrics
The event was coordinated by Dr. Malavika J (Associate Professor), supported by NRP-trained faculty and Junior Residents from the Department of Pediatrics.

Chest Compressions: Indications and Method
Essential Newborn Care after Stabilization
Hands-on demonstrations and guided practice ensured that students developed the confidence and competence required to manage newborn emergencies.
