Foundation Course – 1st MBBS Students, 2024-25 Batch
Medical education in India demands a multidimensional approach, developing interpersonal skills and empathy across hospital, clinic, and community settings. The undergraduate programme aims to shape the “Indian Medical Graduate” (IMG) into a compassionate first responder with globally relevant expertise and values. Aligned with the objectives of National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines, the Foundation Course timetable was meticulously prepared and submitted to the Curriculum Committee at RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital (RRMCH).
The Department of Physiology, RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital (RRMCH) co-ordinated an 80-hour Foundation Course from 14th to 26th October 2024 for the incoming 2024-25 MBBS batch, guided by the NMC’s new 2024 CBME revised guidelines. Held from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day, the course offered students a comprehensive introduction to medical education, professionalism, and healthcare systems.
