World Heart Day – Dept of Cardiology

“WORLD HEART DAY” is a Universal platform observed every year on 29th September, which has the capability to flow attention on the millions of people who die of heart disease each year. At RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital the ‘World Heart Day’ was celebrated in an earnest manner which focused on both education and awareness. The program was held on 22nd September, 2022 extended till 29th September, 2022. The program commenced by honouring the members of Rotary Club for pledging the interest on Hundred Heart Surgeries at free of cost that is helping various people who are in need mainly from poor backgrounds. The students of Medical (MBBS) and Allied Health Science, Cardiac Care Technology and Perfusion Technology were invited to participate and they actively present various modules, exhibits and chats presenting on Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology of the cardio vascular system from 27th to 29th of September with certificates being awarded for participating and for best presentations. The CME’s which was conducted on the 22nd and 29th of September 2022 covered various topics of concern at present days and also age concerned, by Professor and Residents of the departments of Cardiology, Cardiovascular Surgery and General Medicine. The topics covered were…. 1. Sudden cardiac death – by Dr. Adnan Ali Khan 2. Management of Heart Failure – by Dr. Rishab Agarwal 3. Hypertension-Current Management – by Dr. Ashwathi 4. Heart Attack in Young – by Dr. Ram Anil Raj 5. Cardiac Surgery update 2022 – by Dr. Rekha Matta Scope of Cardiac Surgery in Rajrajeswari Heart Centre’s ‘Patient Care’ was given highest priority during the free Patient Health Check-up Camps held at Rajrajeswari Heart Centre and Sri Chamundeshwari Hospital for the betterment of society and to educate the patients also. A ‘Patient Education’ booklet was launched on the occasion of the birthday of our Chairman Dr. A.C .Shanmugam. Through this campaign, people from various backrounds, doctors, medical students and various communities were united in the fight against the CVD border to encourage heart healthy living.
